Video: Creative Experimentation with SIREWALL in New Zealand

Here’s how one of our clients in New Zealand is getting themselves ready ahead of an upcoming project consultation field visit.

Empowered with the knowledge of SIREWALL basics, they’re getting a head start by creating test walls to explore the range of what’s possible artistically in order to achieve their creative intent.

This video—taken over the course of a SIREWALL workshop called ‘Living House’—provides an excellent example of what’s possible to achieve in terms of texture, colour and relief.  SIREWALL doesn’t have to be flat. The possibilities are endless.  Enjoy!

The photo above is of a second test SIREWALL that was created after the one shown in this video.

After learning that the blue and green colourings are heavy metals, the Kawakawa Maori artists decide to avoid their use.  What you see is an abstract of beaches, hills, clouds, all in the traditional Maori colours. The relief work was prepared on a CNC machine.
